Avon River Lookout

Relaxing views of nature

We built this project in the spring of 2008 in Stratford Ontario.

This project started with a clean slate and a slope down to the Avon River. The owners wanted a place to relax outside and enjoy nature and the beautiful view.

Armour stone walls were installed to create many different levels, with natural stone steps throughout. Along with some hand placed SRWs (segmental retaining wall), the armour stone also created many container gardens.

A long SRW was built along the sloped driveway, to retain the neighbors property. The main attraction is the full outdoor kitchen with granite counters, built-in BBQ, storage drawers, a sink and a bar fridge. To top it off, the driveway, outdoor kitchen and dining area have in-ground heat to melt the snow away.
